The Worthing Lions Summer Festival

The Worthing Lions Summer Festival once again transformed Worthing seafront into a vibrant celebration of community, entertainment and summer fun. Thousands of residents and visitors flocked to the promenade over the weekend to enjoy one of the town's biggest annual events, culminating in the spectacular Saturday night fireworks display launched from the end of Worthing Pier.

The festival once again demonstrated why it has become a highlight of the Sussex summer calendar, with activities and attractions for visitors of all ages.

More than just fireworks...

The weekend offered far more than just fireworks. The bustling seafront market stretched along the promenade with a wide variety of artisan stalls, local businesses, charities and delicious street food vendors. Families enjoyed the ever-popular Stevens Funfair near the pier, while visitors tried their luck on the Worthing Lions tombola, helping to raise valuable funds for local community projects. Live entertainment throughout the weekend created a lively atmosphere from morning until late into the evening.

Motor enthusiasts

Beautifully restored classic cars

Motor enthusiasts were equally well catered for. On Saturday, Steyne Gardens was filled with beautifully restored classic cars, vintage scooters and BSA Bantams, with owners proudly displaying their vehicles throughout the day.

Sunday brought an impressive display of American cars and custom vehicles, adding another exciting attraction to the festival weekend. Together with the market, funfair and entertainment, these displays encouraged visitors to spend the entire weekend exploring Worthing's seafront.

An Amazing Fireworks Display

As darkness fell on Saturday evening, attention turned towards Worthing Pier for the festival's centrepiece. The fireworks display lit up the night sky over the English Channel, drawing huge crowds along the promenade.

The reflections across the water, accompanied by applause from thousands of spectators, created a memorable finale to an outstanding day. Events such as the Worthing Lions Summer Festival continue to showcase everything that makes Worthing such a welcoming seaside destination while raising funds that directly support local charities and community organisations.
